KENNESAW, Ga. – Madison Caldwell,
Roanne Tomlinson and
Clara Aveling have been selected to play in a pair of upcoming tournaments.
Caldwell and Tomlinson will face off in the 2018 Women's Southeastern Challenge Match on July 30-31 in at the Amelia Island Club in Fernandina Beach, Fla. The tournament features teams from Georgia, Florida and Alabama and players are determined by their state associations based on recent performance. Caldwell will play for team Georgia, while Tomlinson will play for team Florida.
Caldwell carried over her strong play from the season into the summer. She finished runner-up in the Georgia Top 60 Women's event and qualified for the US Women's Amateur. Tomlinson won the FSGA Match-Play Championship and was Tied for14
th in the FSGA Stroke Play Championship earlier this summer.
Aveling has been selected to play for Belgium in the 2018 World Team Amateur Championships Aug. 29 – Sept.1 at the Carton House in Maynooth, Ireland.
This summer, Aveling won the King's Prize 18-36 hole event that took place on May 26-27 at the Par-70 Royal Ostend Golf Club in De Haan, Belgium. The rising junior fired rounds of 72-67 for a 1-under total of 139 to win the event by seven shots. She finished runner-up at the Amateur Open of Flanders. The rising redshirt-junior posted rounds of 72-76-71 for a 3-over par total of 219 at Koksijde Golf Ter Hille in Koksijde, Belgium. Aveling represented Belgium in the European Ladies Team Championship earlier this month.
