During the summer, various Kennesaw State women's basketball student-athletes will answer questions about their favorite memories, hobbies, interests and more in the Owls' "Get to Know" series. Now up, Breanna Hoover!
What are your most played songs on your playlist?
My most played songs on my playlist would probably be "In My Feelings" by Drake, "Boo'd Up," and "Yes Indeed" by Lil Baby.
How did you first get involved in athletics?
I first got involved with athletics when I started playing T-ball. Then my dad helped coach a soccer team, but I'm glad I started playing basketball at a young age because I wouldn't be where I am now without it!
What's your favorite thing about Kennesaw State women's basketball?
My favorite thing about basketball here is my team. I've never played for a team who all get along so well. I feel like I've known all of them my entire life.
What do you most enjoy about athletics in general?
The thing I enjoy most about athletics is the relationships you form with people. Being a normal student, yes, you can make friends here and there, but when you play a sport, you feel connected to other athletes and form so many connections with others that can last you a lifetime.
What is your training routine is like, both individualized and team related?
My training routine on a weekly basis as a team consist of weights three days a week, individuals two days a week, and conditioning two days a week. Individually, I go to the gym around nighttime to get some extra shots up.
What's your favorite "cheat" food?
My favorite cheat food would most definitely be some type of fast food, so probably Wendy's.
How do you think athletics benefits your life off the court?
Athletics benefits you in the long run in many different ways. You form relationships with your teammates that will last forever. Also down the road, if you need a job somewhere, showing on your resume that you played a sport in college can put you at a higher level of getting it due to your experience. Especially if the job you want is sports related.
What's your favorite non-basketball sport?
My favorite sport other than basketball would be softball or volleyball. It's a tie!
What's been your favorite memory in sports?
My favorite memories in sports would have to be when I won back-to-back state championships for basketball my freshman and sophomore year.
What are you looking forward to most this season?
This season, I'm looking forward to seeing how our team does together and how far we go. We're aiming for the ASUN Championship.
