Final Results

Bloomington, In. –
Freshman Tyler Jones finished fourth in the finals of the long jump at the 2018 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships.

"I'm proud of Tyler's performance today," Assistant Coach Agne Eggerth said. "He had a good series of jumps unfortunately just not good enough as he was only an inch away from making team USA for World Juniors."

He recorded a leap of 7.54m (24'9) on his second jump of the day to secure fourth place.

"Today did not go as planned missing World Juniors by one inch," Jones said. "Injuries got me in the end, but I think I had a great freshman year still finishing as one of the top four U-20 athletes in the U.S. I couldn't be happier with my performance."

The Owls will return in the fall and begin preparing for the 2019 track and field season.
