KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State senior pitcher Abigail Green and junior shortstop Jessie Mullen were named to the 2018 ASUN Conference Softball All-Academic Team following a vote of the conference's athletics communications directors, it was announced on Monday (May 7). It marks the first time both student-athletes have been honored.

The selection of Green and Mullen to the 11-person team marks the third consecutive year at least one Owl has been recognized and the first time KSU has had two individuals voted all-academic in the same season.

Green, a two-time ASUN Conference Honor Roll honoree and 2017 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete, has posted a 3.44 grade-point average while majoring in exercise science.

In addition to her accomplishments in the classroom, Green has had a career-year in the circle for Kennesaw State. The Grandville, Mich. native has established personal-bests for appearances (23), games started (19), complete games (13), shutouts (5), innings pitched and strikeouts, and ranks among the ASUN Conference's top 10 in opposing batting average, innings pitched, strikeouts, wins and games started.

Mullen, who was an ASUN Conference Honor Roll honoree in 2016-17, has recorded a 3.90 grade-point average while majoring in integrative studies.

A two-year starter at shortstop, Mullen has started all 51 games in 2018 and is batting a career-high .234 with career-best totals of 29 hits, 21 runs, nine doubles, .379 slugging percentage and .331 on-base percentage, while recording five multiple-hit and three multiple-RBI games. Mullen also earned her first career ASUN Conference Player of the Week honor earlier this season.
