– Daniel McKune and
David Lott on the Kennesaw State men's track and field team have been named to the ASUN Conference Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic team the conference announced Friday.
"I stress academics heavily and challenge our student-athletes to be students first so I'm always particularly pleased when they exemplify this," Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Andy Eggerth said.
McKune has a 3.76 GPA majoring in sport management. He competed in six meets this season. Finished third in the shot put with a throw of 14.40m (47'3") and the hammer throw with a toss of 50.63m (166'1). Did not medal, but had a career-best toss of 39.86 (130'9") in the discus in the ASUN Championships. He had his career-best toss of 52.80m (173'3") in the hammer throw at the Emory Classic. Finished the season ranked inside the top 10 in the shot put, discus and hammer throw in the ASUN.
Lott has 3.45 GPA majoring in sport management. In outdoor track, he competed in five meets. The sophomore completed two decathlons during the outdoor season. He finished third in the decathlon at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational scoring a career-best 6647 points. His 6647 points ranked second in the ASUN this season. He would take home the silver medal in the decathlon at the ASUN Championships scoring 5603 points. He also grabbed the silver medal in the javelin with a career-best launch of 51.95m (170'5") at the ASUN Championships.
