KENNESAW, Ga.
– Chuck McConville has been tabbed ASUN Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
"This is Chuck's second athlete of the week award which shows the type of outdoor season that he's having," director of track and field and cross country
Andy Eggerth said. " Our conference has some tremendous field athletes ranked in the top of the nation, so to win this award is legit. I'm looking forward to Chuck having great success next week at the ASUN Championship."
The Owls junior finished third in the shot put with a career-best toss of 16.27m (53'4.5") at the North Florida Invite. That toss ranks first in the ASUN this season. He also finished fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 52.72m (172'11"). This is his second ASUN Athlete of the Week honor.
The Owls return to action at the ASUN Championships, which take place Friday-Saturday (May.11-12) in Jacksonville, Florida at Hodges Stadium at North Florida.
