BSB: Owls Cap Regular Season Against Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State baseball team put a lid on the 2018 regular season Saturday afternoon, falling 15-1 to Jacksonville at Sessions Stadium in ASUN action.
 
THE BASICS
Records: Kennesaw State (25-28, 11-10), Jacksonville (37-17, 14-6)
Score: Jacksonville 15, Kennesaw State 1
Starting Pitching Matchup: RHP Jake Rothwell (3-3) vs. RHP Tyler Santana  (10-1)

THE STORYLINES:
· Kennesaw State suffered its first series sweep of the year, dropping all three games against Jacksonville to end the regular season.
 
· Griffin Helms provided the only run of the day for the Owls, launching his fifth home run of the year in the eighth inning. He also notched his third three-hit game of the season, going 3-for-4 at the plate.
 
· KSU has secured the No. 3 seed in next week's ASUN Championship and will open play on Wednesday, May 23 at 7 p.m. against tournament host North Florida.
 
· The Owls swept UNF earlier this year at Stillwell Stadium, scoring 20 runs in the three-game weekend set. Kennesaw State is 44-43 all-time against the Ospreys

UP NEXT
Kennesaw State will stay in Jacksonville, Florida, for the next four days as it prepares to compete in the ASUN Championship. The Owls are in search of their second tournament title in the last five years.
