STOCKTON, Calif. – Kennesaw State is in 11th place after two rounds of the NCAA Stockton Regional that is being contested at the par-72, 7,239-yard The Preserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, Calif.

The Owls carded a 2-over par 290 on Tuesday and have a 36-hole total of 6-over par 582. Alabama and Iowa State lead the 13-team field with a 14-under par total of 562. Kansas (563, -13), Stanford (568, -8) and TCU (569, -7) round out the top five. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Okla.

"Our goal coming into the day was to get it to even-par or better for the tournament and we got there midway through the round, but lost some momentum on the back nine," head coach Bryant Odom said. "We had consistent scores throughout the round but were unable to shoot that low score that would move us up the leaderboard.

"While it may look like we're out of it, we are capable of putting together a low round that can vault us into contention," Odom added. "We're just going to go out tomorrow and have fun and see where we end up at the end of the day."

Junior Jake Fendt produced the low round of the day for Kennesaw State, posting a 1-under 71 and is tied for 42nd at 2-over par 146.

Sophomore Connor Coffee remains the Owls' overall leader as he is tied for 34th with a 1-over total of 145, following a second-round 2-over par 74. Juniors Wyatt Larkin and Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres are tied for 42nd at 2-over par 146, while freshman Brady Keran (148, +4) is tied for 58th.

Stanford's Brandon Wu is the individual leader with a 10-under par total of 134, one shot in front of Oregon's Norman Xiong (135, -9).

The regional concludes on Wednesday with play beginning at 10:30 a.m. (ET). The Owls will be grouped with Southern California and UC Irvine and will tee off on the 10th hole beginning at 11:55 a.m. (ET).
