Final Round Live Scoring
MACON, Ga.- The No.42 Kennesaw State women's golf team moved into third place after the second round of the Brickyard Collegiate at the Brickyard Golf Course on Monday.
The team recorded a 1-over par 289 in the second round for a two-round total of 18-over par 594. KSU is 15 shots behind No.20 Vanderbilt who leads the 15-team field with a 3-over par total of 579.
" We had a great day on the course, the focus and execution from the team was outstanding," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "We made smart decisions and took advantage of some really good shot making early on. This course rewards quality golf and today we earned our round. We will be in the lead pairing tomorrow and will try our best to bring home some hardware."
Madison Caldwell fired a second consecutive even-par round of 72. The junior is tied for second overall with an even-par total of 144. She leads the field with 28 pars through two rounds. Her round Monday marked her ninth at par or better this season.
Henriette Nielsen carded the Owls low round of the day in the second round. Nielsen made five birdies to shoot a 2-under par 70. She leads the field with eight birdies through the first two rounds of play. Her round of 70 was her lowest of the spring and second lowest this season. The senior is in a tie for fifth with a 1-over par total 145.
Medy Thavong and
Clara Aveling are both tied for 31
st at 9-over par 153. Aveling recorded a 1-over par 73 on Tuesday. Thavong closed with a pair of birdies to post a 3-over par 75.
After a rough opening round,
Roanne Tomlinson bounced back with a 2-over 74 in the second round. She is tied for 41
st at 10-over par 154.
Playing as an individual,
Charlotte Charrayre posted a 2-over par 74 on Monday. She sits tied for 14
th with a two-round total of 5-over par 149.
The final round of the Brickyard Intercollegiate will take place on Tuesday (Apr.9) at the Brickyard Golf Course. The Owls will be paired with Old Dominion and Vanderbilt. Play will begin under a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
