JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A day after clinching the ASUN Conference regular season title, the Kennesaw State softball team concluded its schedule with a doubleheader sweep over Jacksonville at The Debbie & Fred Pruitt Softball Complex in Jacksonville.

Hailey Andrews threw a complete game, and Alexa Solorzano and Jessie Mullen each homered to pace the Owls (36-15, 14-3) to a 4-2 victory in the opener. In the nightcap, Kira Czyrklis double and homered, and Alley Cutting pitched 4 2/3 innings of relief to highlight a 3-1 win.

The doubleheader sweep gave Kennesaw State a series victory and completed an impressive run through the ASUN Conference schedule as the Owls captured all six of its league series for the first time in program history.

Solorzano had a big day at the plate as she went 4-for-7 with two runs scored and a home run in the two games, while Czyrklis had three hits in eight at-bats, a pair of runs scored, two doubles, a home run and two RBIs.

Making her first ASUN start of the season, Andrews (5-0) allowed five hits, two runs, did not walk a batter and struck out two while going the distance in game one. The Owls' junior also started game two and surrendered two hits, a run, walked three and struck out one in 2 1/3 innings.

Cutting (14-8) came on in the third inning and limited Jacksonville (24-26, 5-9) to a pair of hits, a walk and struck out four.

After earning the No. 1 seed in the ASUN Championship, Kennesaw has earned an opening-round bye and will next be in action on May 10 when it opens tournament action in DeLand, Fla.
