ON DECK
  • Kennesaw State (23-18) will travel to FGCU for a crucial road series in the ASUN with the Owls leading the conference with a 9-3 record.
  • The last time Kennesaw State traveled to FGCU, they swept the Eagles and clinched the 2016 ASUN Regular Season Championship.
  • Kennesaw State currently leads the ASUN with a 9-3 record winning all four series of conference play so far. The Owls have comeback to win in 7 of the 12 games to give them the conference leading 9-3 record.
  • A big part of KSU's strong start in conference play has been its success on Friday nights led by RHP AJ Moore. The Owls are 7-3 this season on Friday's and 3-1 so far in ASUN play. Moore is sixth in the conference with a 2.53 ERA on the season.
  • The Owls are coming off of a weekend where they bounced back to win the series after losing their first Friday night in conference play. KSU played a double header on Saturday due to the potential of bad weather on Sunday and swept the twinbill to clinch their seventh straight series at home.
  • LaDonis Bryant was on base the entire week for the Owls. Against Lipscomb, he hit .636 with seven hits. He scored two runs and had one RBI. The redshirt senior left fielder knocked in the winning run in the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday.
  • The Owls lead the ASUN in extra base hits with 83 doubles, 7 triples and 36 home runs. The 83 doubles and 36 home runs lead the conference on their own as well.
  • In the first two games against Grambling State, Kennesaw State scored over 20 runs. Counting those two games, the Owls have posted 20-plus runs four times in the DI era. It was the first time that KSU has scored over 20 runs two games in a row since 1994.
  • With the two wins over Lipscomb, head coach Mike Sansing sits 10 wins away from winning 1,000 career games as a member of the KSU family. Sansing holds a 990-568 (.634) record at Kennesaw State and a 1,092-594 (.642) all-time in 30 seasons. He is in his 27th season with the Owls.
