Kennesaw State will take the short ride down 75 to play at Georgia Tech on Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on ACC Network via ESPN3.
ON DECK
- Kennesaw State (21-15) travels to take on Georgia Tech on Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. in the only meeting between the two teams this season. The game will be broadcasted on ACC Network.
- The two teams had last season's games cancelled due to weather. Georgia Tech won the games in 2016 and the teams split the games in 2015. Overall, the Owls are 6-19 all time against Georgia Tech.
- The Owls are coming off of a weekend where they completed a series sweep over North Florida making a comeback in every game. On the Saturday doubleheader, Kennesaw State scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth in both games to seal the sweep over the Ospreys.
- Jake Franklin had a massive series against North Florida. On Saturday in the two games, the junior outfielder went 6-9 with 3 home runs and 6 RBI. He nearly doubled his team-leading home run output from four to seven on the season.
- Kennesaw State leads the ASUN with a 7-2 record winning all three series of conference play so far. The Owls have comeback to win in 6 of the 9 games so far to give them the conference leading 7-2 record.
- The Owls lead the ASUN in extra base hits with 77 doubles, 5 triples and 32 home runs. The 77 doubles and 32 home runs lead the conference on their own as well.
- LHP Ryan Kennedy got his first career win at Kennesaw State on Tuesday against Georgia Southern. He pitched five innings only giving up two runs on five hits. The bullpen came in and only gave up two hits and one run the rest of the way. He would go on to get his second victory on Saturday against North Florida.
- In the first two games against Grambling State, Kennesaw State scored over 20 runs. Counting those two games, the Owls have posted 20-plus runs four times in the DI era. It was the first time that KSU has scored over 20 runs two games in a row since 1994.
- With the three wins over North Florida, head coach Mike Sansing sits 12 wins away from winning 1,000 career games as a member of the KSU family. Sansing holds a 988-565 (.634) record at Kennesaw State and a 1,090-592 (.642) all-time in 30 seasons. He is in his 27th season with the Owls.
