Match Preview
The Kennesaw State women's tennis squad begins its final weekend of ASUN Conference play this weekend.  
 
The Owls will host NJIT on Thursday for Senior Day before heading to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on USC Upstate on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Owls will honor seniors Manuel Castellanos and Corey Smith during the match on Thursday vs NJIT.

The Series 
Thursday's match between Kennesaw State and NJIT marks the third meeting between the two programs. KSU leads the series 2-0. Kennesaw State has won both meetings by a score of 6-1.

Kennesaw State and USC Upstate will meet for the 10th time on Saturday. USC Upstate leads the series 8-1.
 
About NJIT
The Highlanders are 9-8 and 3-1 in the ASUN this season. Richard Rangaa leads the Highlanders with a 11-6 record in dual match play this season. Richard Rangga and Lukas Zvikas are NJIT's top doubles team with a 7-9 record this season.

About USC Upstate
The Spartans are 5-17 overall and 0-4 in the ASUN this season. Fernando Bernardes paces the Spartans with a 7-10 record this season. Luka Ebla and Felix Ewers are USC Upstate's top doubles pair at 10-7 on the season.
 
Calvo Barcelo Named ASUN Player of the Week
Kennesaw State's Fermin Calvo Barcelo was named ASUN Men's Tennis Player of the Week the conference announced Wednesday (Apr.11).
The junior was 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles play over the weekend at Stetson and UNF. He leads the team with a 12-4 record in singles and is 4-0 in ASUN singles action.
He beat Malik Bhatnagar of Stetson  6-3, 1-6, 7-6 on Thursday at No.1 singles. He would pick up his 11th straight win in singles on Saturday over Jefta Kecic of UNF 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3).
In doubles, the Mar Del Plata, Argentina native teamed up with Manuel Castellanos to pick up a win over Linus Bergevi and Colter DeCoste 6-3 at No.1 doubles.
 This is Calvo Barcelo's second consecutive ASUN Player of the Week Award this season and fourth of his career.

The Last Time Out
he Kennesaw State men's tennis team fell 5-2 at North Florida on Saturday (Apr.7) at the UNF Tennis Complex.UNF won two doubles matches and came out on top in three singles matches.
 The reigning ASUN Player of the Week, Fermin Calvo Barcelo was able to beat Jefta Kecic 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3) to win his 11th consecutive singles match. Harrison Wood picked up a win in three sets over Joe Ellis, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5) to pick up his second win of the season at No.6 singles.  
 
Next Up
The Owls will need to finish in the top-6 in the ASUN Conference standings to qualify for the ASUN tournament, which runs Friday-Sunday (Apr.20-22) in Jacksonville, Florida.
