Final Results

MACON, Ga.- The No.42 Kennesaw State women's golf team locked up third place after the final round of the Brickyard Collegiate at the Brickyard Golf Course on Tuesday.

The team carded a 12-over par 300 in the third round for a three-round total of 30-over par 894. No.20 Vanderbilt won the event at 5-over par 869. The third-place finish was the Owls eighth in the top five in nine events this season. It also marked KSU's best finish in two appearances at the Brickyard Collegiate.

" We are very happy with our overall result, third in this field is very good with wins over an SEC foe and two ASUN rivals," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "With that said, we are also disappointed with the way today's round ended. We were pushing to move up the leaderboard and midway through the round the team was executing brilliantly. We stumbled on holes 12-16 and lost our chance at a second-place finish. We will reflect on why this happened and continue to get better. We are playing our best golf heading into the final event of the regular season and will keep fine- tuning before the ASUN championship."

Madison Caldwell recorded a 4-over par 76 in the final round. The junior led the Owls with a sixth- place finish at 4-over par 220. She tied the fourth most pars in the field with 38 for the tournament. Her finish was her best of the spring and second best of the season. She was the Owls top finisher for the fourth time this season.

Henriette Nielsen finished in a tie for 14th at 8-over par 224. The senior posted a 7-over par 79 in the final round.

Clara Aveling had the Owls low round of the day on Tuesday. Aveling carded an even-par 72 to finish in a tie for 17th at 9-over par 225. Her round of 72 was her fourth at par or better this season.

Medy Thavong recorded her second straight round of 3-over par 75 to finish tied for 29th at 12-over par 228.

Roanne Tomlinson finished tied for 37th with a three-round total of 15-over par 231.

Playing as an individual, Charlotte Charrayre tied for 25th 11-over par 227.
