Ryan Kennedy Gets First Win Going 5 IP Giving Up 2 Runs

THE STORYLINE:
· Kennesaw State exploded for six runs in the fourth inning propelling them to a 12-3 victory over Georgia Southern down in Statesboro, Georgia.
 
The Owls combined for 14 hits to score the 12 runs and Ryan Kennedy got the victory pitching five innings giving up two runs on five hits. The bullpen held the Eagles to only one run on two hits over the final four innings.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
· The game was scoreless up until the fourth inning when the Owls exploded for six runs against five Georgia Southern pitchers.
· After Georgia Southern got a couple of runs back, Forrest Bramlett hit his fourth homer of the season in seventh inning. His homer came after a Garrett Hodges single.
· Taylor Wilkes, Cooper Mayhall, Rhian Mann and Brison Finney combined to only give up two hits and one run to seal the victory for Kennesaw State.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· The win by nine runs is the largest margin the Owls have ever defeated Georgia Southern. The previous high was in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional when the Owls won 13-5.
· Ryan Kennedy pitched five innings giving up two runs on five hits to get the win. It was the first win of Kennedy's collegiate career.
· David Chabut had another good day going 3-4 from the plate with 1 RBI and scored two runs.
· The team was 6-17 with runners on base in the game.
· It was the fourth game in a row that Kennesaw State has had double-digit hits.
· The win snapped a four-game losing streak to Georgia Southern. The two teams will play one more time this season in Kennesaw.

UP NEXT
The Owls will go for their third straight series win in ASUN play starting Friday, April 13 against North Florida at 6 p.m.
