OPELIKA, Ala. – Juniors Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres, Jake Fendt and Wyatt Larkin all carded sub-par rounds to help the Kennesaw State men's golf team tie for third place at the 17-team Tiger Invitational that concluded Tuesday at the par-72, 7,149-yard Grand National Lake Course in Opelika, Ala.

The Owls tied Mississippi State with a 1-over par 865 total following a final-round 5-under par 283. Host and No. 9 Auburn captured the team title with a 25-under par score of 839 to finish ahead of Georgia State, which placed second at even-par 864.

Torres led KSU's third-round charge, posting a 4-under par 68, while Fendt shot 69 and Larkin fired a 2-under par 70. The three combined to shoot 9-under and recorded 16 birdies.

"We ended the event on a high today and rallied to tie for third with Pablo, Jake and Wyatt showing their leadership with sub-par scores," head coach Bryant Odom said. "We have a short turnaround before our next event in Athens next week and I feel we are getting close to some really exciting team scores."

Torres, who was the individual leader after the first round, tied for ninth with a 6-under par 210 total. David Kocher of Maryland captured individual medalist honors at 11-under par 205, finishing one shot better than Auburn's Ben Schlottman (206, -10).

Fendt and Larkin both tied for 16th with 1-under par scores of 215. Junior Adam Morris (225, +9) and freshman Brady Keran (237, +21) tied for 62nd and 81st, respectively.

Kennesaw State returns to action on Monday (March 12) when it travels to Athens for the Southern Intercollegiate Championships at Athens Country Club.
