QUOTING HEAD COACH AGNUS BERENATO
Â
On Senior Clara Young
"Clara had an amazing career both on and off the court. On the court, she ranks in KSU's top 10 in several categories, including assists, and has helped build this program's foundation. As a second-year captain, Clara led a young team in which seven of its 10 players were new, and never quit or got frustrated. She was always there to teach a play or calm someone down. Off the court, Clara is a two-time ASUN All-Academic Team selection. As an undergraduate student, and now in graduate school pursuing a master's degree in sport management, Clara has been involved in SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Council), volunteer work and served as a big sister to our "adopted sister", Cate (Zavitz)." Â
On the Young Players
"I am extremely proud of the youth on our team. Kamiyah has improved her game on both ends of the court. She became a better defensive player, led us in steals and was second in rebounding. Offensively, Kamiyah carried the bulk of the scoring and improved her playmaking abilities."Â
Â
"
Alexis Poole worked very hard to take her game to the next level. Coming into the program, she was a terrific athlete, and after one season is becoming a better basketball player. Alexis has learned what it takes to be a threat in the paint and on the defensive boards."
Â
"Brianna Hoover made terrific progress and finished the season as a starter. Overall, our new student-athletes had a great experience and grew not only with their basketball skills, but in their academic life, as teammates, and in the community."Â Â
Â
"I also want to thank my staff which worked hard daily to make a difference with these ladies. I believe the future is bright and our foundation is forming."
