EATONTON, GA –
Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres carded a 2-under par 70 to lead the Kennesaw State men's golf team during the first round of the Linger Longer Invitational that opened Sunday at the Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
Torres was joined in red numbers by
Wyatt Larkin, who posted a 1-under 71 to help the Owls to even-par 288 total and a ninth-place standing after 18 holes. Georgia turned in a 16-under total of 272 and holds a 5-shot advantage over No. 8 Alabama (277, -11).
Torres is tied for 12th and seven shots back of Georgia's Davis Thompson, who opened with a nine-under par 63 and holds a two-shot lead over teammate Spencer Ralston and Penn State's Cole Miller. Both players shot 7-under scores of 65.
Junior
Jake Fendt (73) is tied for 40th, while sophomore
Connor Coffee (74) and freshman
Brady Keran (76) are tied for 50th and 70th, respectively.
The Linger Longer continues on Monday when Kennesaw State grouped with Cincinnati and UNCG, and scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m. All the action can be followed live at
