KENNESAW, Ga.
– Two athletes on the Kennesaw State men's track and field teams have been named to the ASUN Indoor Academic All-Conference team the conference announced Wedenesday.
Daniel McKune and
David Lott were named to the team on the men's side.
"I am always particularly proud of our All-Academic student-athletes," Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Andy Eggerth said. "They work incredibly hard in all areas of their lives to achieve excellence and they are models of what we should all strive for."
McKune has a 3.76 GPA majoring in sport management. At the ASUN Championships, The junior finished second in the weight throw with a career-best launch of 16.17m (53'0.5) and third in the shot put with a toss of 14.17m (46'6) which was the third-farthest throw in the conference this season. This is the third time in McKune's career that he has earned a spot on the ASUN Indoor Academic All-Conference team.
Lott holds a 3.45 GPA in sport management. He finished second in the heptathlon at the ASUN Championships scoring 4735 points. He posted a career-best performance in the high jump with a leap of 1.84m (6'0.5). He took home sixth place in the heptathlon at the Queens University Combined Events scoring a career-best 4745 points. At that meet collected career-best performances in the 60m (7.41), long jump 6.58m (21'7.25) and 1000m at 2:46.38. This is Lott's first appearance on the ASUN All-Academic team.
