Kennesaw State begins its four-game road slate Tuesday afternoon, taking on SEC foe Georgia for a midweek clash. The Owls (8-9) and Bulldogs (11-5) are scheduled to play at Foley Field at 5 p.m. on SECN+.
ON DECK
- Kennesaw State (8-9) begins its four-game road week with a midweek showdown at SEC in-state foe Georgia (11-5) before packing up and heading out West for a three-game series at Oklahoma.
- KSU heads on a four-game road trip, marking one of three as the longest this season. The Owls also have a four-game road swing March 27-March 31, and then one more time at Clemson and FGCU April 24-29.
- The Owls are coming off taking 2-of-3 from Sacred Heart at Stillwell Stadium over the weekend, where the team totaled a .284 (29-102) batting average, eight doubles, one triple, one home run and driving in all 12 runs scored.
- LaDonis Bryant is scorching hot at the plate, coming off a weekend batting .417 (5-12) with one double, one triple and one RBI. He slugged .667 and tallied a .462 on-base percentage.
- Bryant leads the team with a .372 batting average, ranking third on the club with 16 hits. He has totaled eight runs, two doubles, two triples, and knocked home five RBI.
- Bryant has reach base safely in 11 straight games, marking the longest for the 2018 season by any Owl. He has logged five multi-hit games over the stretch and two multi-RBI games.
- Jake Franklin, who has started in 17 games at center field, is batting .284 (19-67) totaling three doubles, one triple and two home runs. He ranks third on the team with 11 RBI.
- LHP Ryan Kennedy gets the call Tuesday evening. He enters the game with an 0-3 mark, a 6.17 ERA in 11.2 frames of work. He has struck out nine and given up 14 hits.
- With two wins over Sacred Heart, head coach Mike Sansing sits 25 wins away from winning 1,000 career games as a member of the KSU family. Sansing holds a 975-560 (.637) record at Kennesaw State and a 1,077-588 (.648) all-time in 30 seasons. He is in his 27th season with the Owls.
