Final Results
Las Vegas, NV. – The No.42 Kennesaw State women's golf team secured fourth place after the final round of the Rebel Beach at the par-72, 6,380-yard Spanish Trail Country Club on Tuesday.
The Owls posted an 18-over par 306 in the final round to finish 33-over par 897 for the tournament. KSU finished 16 shots behind UNLV, who won the tournament at 17-over 881. This marks the Owls fifth top-four finish of the season.
"Although we recorded another top four team finish, we know we could have played better than we did," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "Although we recorded another top 4 team finish, we know we could have played better than we did. Individually, we had great finishes from Clara (fifth) and Henriette. I am very proud of them both. We have got two weeks to regroup before Mexico, and we will reflect and look ahead."
Redshirt-sophomore Clara Aveling tied for fifth to lead the Owls in the event. Aveling rolled in 11 pars and two birdies in her final round to shoot 5-over par 77. Her 36 pars this week tied for third- most in the field. She finished the tournament at 5-over par 221. This is her best finish since winning the 2016 ASUN Championship Individual title.
Senior Henriette Nielsen made 11 pars and three birdies in route to a 1-over par 73 in the final round. She finished tied for 11th at 8-over par 224. She finished tied for second in the field in scoring average on par 4's at even par.
Junior Charlotte Charrayre opened with six-straight pars to record a 5-over par 77. She tied for 22nd at 10-over par 226.
Junior Madison Caldwell carded a final round 7-over par 79 to finish tied for 37th.
Junior Roanne Tomlinson tied for 48th at 18-over par 234.
The Owls will return to action at the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational at El Tigre Golf and Country Club, hosted by Iowa on Mar. 16-17 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
