Kennesaw State returns the diamond for a Tuesday, Wednesday midweek clash with in-state rival Mercer. The Owls and Bears clash Tuesday on ESPN3 at Stillwell Stadium before heading to Macon, Ga., for a non-conference tilt at Claude Smith Field. Tuesday's game will air live on ESPN3, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. KSU is riding a three-game winning streak into the new week and sit at 4-4 overall. 
ON DECK
  1. Kennesaw State returns to action for a pair of midweek games against in-state rival Mercer on Tuesday and Wednesday, opening the new week on a three-game winning streak and a 4-4 overall record. 
  2. The Owls went 3-1 last week, coming off a 3-0 weekend over Evansville at Stillwell Stadium. Kennesaw State hit .238 as a team, registering 34 hits, eight doubles, two triples, four home runs and slugged .406 during the week. 
  3. OF Jake Franklin stayed hot at the plate, hitting .412 (7-for-17), totaling one triple, one home run and a team-high seven runs batted in.
  4. Overall, Franklin is leading the team with a .324 (11-for-34) batting average, 11 hits and two home runs, while ranking second with nine RBI. He is currently on an eight-game hitting streak and has totaled three multi-RBI games.  
  5. 2B Grant Williams, who tallied a career-high five RBI against Minnesota on opening weekend, leads the team with 11 runs batted in. He has registered a .286 batting average with a team-high five doubles and a grand slam on his 2018 resume.
  6. Williams, Franklin and David Chabut have reached base in at least six straight games. The three players have combined for 26 hits, 11 extra base hits and 21 runs batted in over the first eight games of the season. 
  7.  Head Coach Mike Sansing will act as the Owls' manager for his 27th season, sitting 29 wins away from winning 1,000 career games as a member of the KSU family. Sansing holds a 971-555 (.637) record at Kennesaw State and a 1,073-582 (.648) all-time in 30 seasons. 
  8. Kennesaw State finished 2017 with a 25-32 overall record. The Owls holds winning record in 27 of its first 34 seasons of existence.
  9. KSU plays a total of 56 games in the regular season, 36 of them coming at home and 20 on the road. The Owls take on 17 (nine home, nine away) midweek tilts and opens ASUN action on the road at USC Upstate on March 29.

Premium home games include Georgia (Feb. 21), Mercer (Feb. 27), Samford (March 2), North Florida (April 13), Lipscomb (April 20), Georgia State (May 8), Georgia Southern (May 9) and Clemson (May 15), and are priced $10 for single-game tickets.
