WBB: Poole, Street Post Double-Doubles at Lipscomb

Clara Young Scores 14 Points to Finish in Double Figures

NASHVILLE – Alexis Poole and Kamiyah Street recorded double-doubles, and Clara Young scored in double figures to lead the Kennesaw State women's basketball team during a 69-52 loss to Lipscomb on Saturday as both teams concluded regular season play.
 
Poole scored a game-high 19 points and collected 11 rebounds, while Street contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Owls (7-18, 3-11). Young chipped in 14 points for KSU.
 
STORYLINE
After being outscored 22-8 in the first quarter, the Owls, behind the play of Poole, found their rhythm in the second quarter, using a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to 24-40 with 4:10 remaining before the half, and moving within two at 25-23 with 2:44 left before the intermission. KSU outscored Lipscomb, 17-10, in the second quarter and trailed 32-25 at halftime. The Owls twice got the score within two points in the third quarter, but the Bisons (11-18, 7-7) went on a late run to take a 50-38 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Lipscomb's depth played a role in the game as the Bisons outscored the Owls, 27-7, off the bench, receiving scoring from 11 players. Street extended her streak of scoring in double figures to 19 games, and has reached 10 or more points in 23 of 25 games this season. She finished the regular season averaging 16.4 a contest with five double-doubles. Poole recorded her team-leading seventh double-double and will head into the ASUN Conference Championship Tournament averaging 10.1 points and 8.0 rebounds a game.
 
NEXT UP
The Owls are off until Friday when they travel to Florida to take on Jacksonville in the quarterfinals of the ASUN Conference Championship Tournament. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
