Final Results

MELBOURNE, Fla.- The No.36 Kennesaw State women's golf team took home a ninth-place finish at the Moon Golf Invitational after the final round on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,309-yard Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla.

"We have some definite work to do before we leave for our next event," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "We again showed our talent, as we had it 4-under par through 12 holes.  The mistakes we made coming in cost us. It is not a fundamentals issue, it is poor course management and decision making. Madison's finish is again a testament to her hard work and commitment to the process. I am glad we have a quick turnaround to play again as we will not linger on this result, we will look ahead. In a field this strong, our result shows we belong among the best but have to play our own games and not be intimidated."

The Owls carded a 9-over par 297 in the final round to close out the tournament with a 33-over par total of 897. No.9 Furman won the event with a 1-under par total score of 863.

Madison Caldwell was the Owls top finisher in the event. The junior rolled in an eagle, two birdies and four pars over her final nine holes to post a 1-under par 71 in the final round. She finished tied for 15th with a 4-over total of 220 for the tournament.

Henriette Nielsen carded a 1-over par 73 in the final round with four birdies and 10 pars.  She finished in a tie for 22nd with a three-round total of 7-over par 223. Nielsen's 11 birdies in the event were tied for the fifth most among players in the field.

Roanne Tomlinson posted a 2-over par 74. Tomlinson rolled in 14 pars and a birdie in her final round. She tied for 28th at 9-over par 225.

Charlotte Charrayre collected a 7-over par 79 with seven pars and three birdies finishing tied for 42nd at 13-over 229.

Clara Aveling finished tied for 64th at 22-over par 238 for the tournament.

The Owls will return to action on February 26-27 at the Rebel Beach hosted by UNLV at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.
