MELBOURNE, Fla. – The No.36 Kennesaw State women's golf team opened its spring season with 36 holes at the Moon Golf Invitational and currently sits in ninth place.
The Owls posted a pair of 12-over par scores of 300 in the opening two rounds for a 24-over par total 600, 25 shots behind No.9 Furman, which leads the 13-team field at the par-72, 6,309-yard Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla.
"This was a day we need to reflect on, as we did many things really well and certain things very poorly," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "Our course management at times cost us shots, not just bogeys but doubles and triples. On the flipside, we also executed well and made some clutch birdies. This is the first two rounds of the spring season and I was expecting there to be a little rust, but this team is capable of so much better and tomorrow we will make it charge up the leaderboard."
