MOBILE, Ala. – The No. 46-ranked Kennesaw State men's golf team opened its 2018 spring schedule on Monday and got through 30 holes before play at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course in Mobile, Ala., was halted due to darkness.
 
The 16-team field was scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday, and following the first 18, the Owls were tied with Central Arkansas for fourth place after posting a 7-over par 295. At the time play was halted, Kennesaw State was in sixth place at 8-over par.
 
Florida State, ranked No. 29, is leading the field at 17-under par and holds a 13-shot lead over host South Alabama, which is 4-under par. The Seminoles opened with an 8-under par 280, while the Jaguars posted a 1-under par 287.
 
Individually, redshirt junior Wyatt Larkin is tied for fifth at 3-under par through 33 holes after starting the day with 1-under par 71 in the first round. Larkin is four shots off the lead that is shared by Florida State teammates Jamie Li and Harry Ellis who are at 7-under par. Li shot an opening 4-under 68, while Ellis carded a 3-under 69.
 
Junior Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres is tied for 18th at 1-over par through 32 holes, while junior Jake Fendt and freshman Brady Keran are tied for 39th at 5-over par through 33 and 30 holes, respectively.
 
Junior Adam Morris is tied for 74th, 12 shots over-par through 34 holes.
 
Kennesaw State also has three players competing in the USA Invitational Tournament, and sophomore Connor Coffee is tied for sixth after shooting a first-round 73 to place three shots off the lead of Florida State's Parker Reddig, who posted a 1-under 70.
 
Redshirt seniors Paul Doig (78) and Buster Bruton (79) are tied for 30th and 34th, respectively.
 
Tournament action concludes Tuesday with final-round action beginning at 9 a.m. The teams will use a shotgun format, and all the action can be followed live at www.golfstatresults.com.
