WBB: Poole's Third Straight Double-Double Not Enough Versus Mercer

Alexis Poole recorded her third straight double-double on Saturday (Dec. 1), but Kennesaw State (3-6) fell 64-48 to Mercer (4-4). Poole continued to be impressive as she recorded a team-high 19 points and 11 rebounds.

The Owls shot the ball well to begin the game, after going 8-13 in the first quarter. Kennesaw State found themselves up 16-15 at the end of the first quarter and pushed the lead to nine points with 1:57 remaining in the second quarter after Peyton Lewis knocked down a 3-pointer. The Owls claimed a seven-point lead at the half after shooting 55.6 percent from the field. Kamiyah Street was efficient in the first half as she made five of her six first half attempts.

Kennesaw State went cold in the second half and surrendered the lead at the 6:27 mark in the third quarter as the Bears captured a 35-34 advantage. The Owls could never recapture the lead and fell 64-48. In the second half, the Owls shot 19.2 percent from the field but held an eight-to-seven second half offensive rebounding advantage.
