GREENVILLE, S.C. āĀ The Kennesaw State women's tennis team wrapped up its fall schedule by competing in the Furman Duals this weekend in Greenville, S.C.
"Overall, it was a very solid weekend for the Owls," assistant coach
Kirsten Lewis said. "I was very pleased with our doubles play, with Jessica and Brenna making another run to the finals. We also had bright spots in singles on Saturday. I was very proud of Kendall for bouncing back after a tough day on Friday to go undefeated on Saturday. I felt that we handled tough situations very professionally and kept our composure when it mattered. They have played so many matches this fall in preparation for our dual match season, and I am excited to see how it impacts their play in the spring."
In doubles action,
Jessica Cantrell and
Brenna Reilly made it to another final in their flight with a win over Beth Lacey and Shelley Ray of Presbyterian 6-1 in the first round. In the second round, they took down Yana Morar and Femcke van Rensburg of Charleston Southern 6-3 and Grace Waldron and Tyler Kirk of Charleston Southern 6-2 in round 3.
Aspen Jarrett and
Kendall Nash collected a win over Grace Hashiguchi and Anna Dollar of Liberty 6-3 on Saturday.
In singles,
Kendall Nash won a pair of singles on Saturday defeating Elizabeth Williams of Charleston Southern 6-3, 0-6, 11-9 and Claudia De Andreis of Wingate 7-5, 6-2.
Aspen Jarrett defeated Tracy Johnson of Presbyterian 7-5, 6-2.
Brenna Reilly closed out the fall with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Beth Lacey of Presbyterian.

Ā The women's team is off until the spring schedule opens January 16 at Kentucky.
