Final Results
JOHNS CREEK, Ga. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a fifth place finish at the Alexa Stirling Women's Intercollegiate Invitational on Sunday (Oct.28).
"It was not pretty but we managed to play some solid golf today and move up into fifth place while also securing a win over 29th ranked UGA," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "I'm proud of the way we hung in there and fought for every shot. It has been a great fall season and I'm really pleased with the golf we played. We will maintain our national ranking after this event and head into offseason with a great feeling."
KSU carded a 12-over par 300 on Sunday to secure their third top-five finish of the fall. The Owls had three players finish inside the top 20. KSU collected wins over No.29 Georgia, East Carolina, Mercer, Coastal Carolina, Georgia State and Dartmouth. The Owls will finish the fall with a 292 scoring average and a national ranking inside the top 35. Louisville won the tournament at 18-over par 882.
Roanne Tomlinson carded the Owls low round of the tournament with a 1-under 71 on Sunday. The senior rolled in four birdies and 11 pars. She finish tied for 13
th at 8-over par 224.
Clara Aveling posted a 2-over par 74 while
Chloe Thornton recorded a 6-over par 78 as both players tied for 20
th at 11-over par 227.
Madison Caldwell shot a 5-over par 77 and finished tied for 25
th at 12-over par 228.
Charlotte Charrayre recorded a 6-over par 78 and finished tied for 40
th at 16-over par 232.
The Owls will open the spring season at the UCF Challenge Sunday-Tuesday (Feb.3-5) 2019.
