ASUN Release

KENNESAW, Ga. – Dayo Akindele collected the ASUN Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor the conference announced on Wednesday, January 24.

The junior placed fourth in the triple jump at the Vanderbilt Invitational with a personal-best leap of 15.59m (51'1.75). That jump currently ranks 14th in the NCAA and leads the ASUN this season. It also was the fourth longest triple jump in indoor program history. This is his second straight ASUN Field Athlete of the Week award this season.

"Dayo is getting into the swing of things," director of track and field Andy Eggerth said. "There is still plenty of room for improvement, so hopefully he will have an even better competition when we preview the ASUN championship facility in a week and a half."

Akindele and the Owls will return to action at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Feb.2-3 in Lynchburg, Virginia hosted by Liberty.
