Match Preview
The Kennesaw State women's tennis team opens its 2018 spring dual match schedule this weekend when it travels to Birmingham Alabama for a pair of matches against Samford on Saturday and UAB on Sunday.
 
The Owls are beginning their tenth season at the NCAA Division I level that dates back to 2008. Kennesaw State is coming off a 5-15 season in 2017 and expect significant progress to be made in 2018.
 

The Series
Saturday's match between Kennesaw State and Samford will be the sixth match between the two programs. Samford leads the series 5-0. Kennesaw State and UAB have only met four times previously with UAB leading the series 4-0.  


The Last Time Out
The Kennesaw State women's tennis team wrapped up its fall schedule by competing in the Furman Duals on Nov.6 in Greenville, S.C.
 
Senior Laura Hopton led the way for the Owls, going a spotless 3-0 in singles play, while Alexandra Mercado and Jessica Cantrell teamed for two wins in doubles action.


Next Up
The Owls continue their stretch of six-consecutive road matches to begin the season when they travel to Macon, Ga. to take on Georgia Southern on Jan. 31.
