ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Led by four wins from senior
Kennedy Craig and an unbeaten weekend from freshman
Brenna Reilly, the Kennesaw State women's tennis team opened its fall schedule at the WNC Mountain Invitational this weekend at UNC Asheville.
Â
The four-team event included Kennesaw State, UNC Asheville, Western Carolina and USC Upstate and was played in individual round-robins in singles and doubles.
Â
"The level of this tournament was just what we needed to get our competitive part of the fall season off and running," said assistant head coach
Miranda Foley. "I was proud to see Brenna go undefeated this weekend. We will see all these teams again in the spring so we were able to get a good feel for where we stand and some specific things we need to focus on before we compete again. We'll get back at it in practice this week and continue to focus on everyday improvement."
Â
Craig was 2-1 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles play, while Reilly made her collegiate debut with an unbeaten weekend.
Â
The Owls are back in action Oct. 6-8 at the Mercer Gridiron Classic.
