U.S. WOMEN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP WEBSITE
KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women's golfer
Madison Caldwell will look to finish off her summer strong as the rising junior travels to Chula Vista, California, for the 2017 United States Golf Association (USGA) U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, held at the 6,423-yard, par-72 San Diego Country Club on August 7-13.
Caldwell and a field of 156 golfers will take part in two rounds of stroke play qualifying on August 7-8, before the field is cut to the low 64 scorers for match play. A total of six match-play rounds will be conducted to determine the champion, with the final match played over 36 holes.
The Dawsonville, Ga. is set to tee off on the 10th hole at 4:40 p.m. EST on Monday, August 7 and is grouped with Siqin Yu of China and Alexis Florio of the U.S.
FS1 will broadcast the five days of match play from the tournament, showing the Amateur from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST each day. USGA.com will have early coverage Aug.10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST and Aug. 13 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST.
Caldwell qualified for the event after earning one of the 8 qualifying spots in an 18-hole qualifier at the Walnut Grove Country Club in Dayton, Ohio on July 6, posting a three-under par 69 on the 6,276-yard, par-72 course.
Caldwell is the third Owl to play in the US Women's Amateur joining Kaew Preamchuen who played in it 2012 and 2014 and Ket Preamchuen who played in it in 2011.

Aug. 7 (Monday) – First round, stroke play
Aug. 8 (Tuesday) – Second round, stroke play (field reduced to 64 players for match play)
Aug. 9 (Wednesday) – First round, match play
Aug. 10 (Thursday) – Second and third rounds, match play
Aug. 11 (Friday) – Quarterfinals, match play
Aug. 12 (Saturday) – Semifinals, match play
Aug. 13 (Sunday) – 36-hole championship final, match play
