NORMAN, Okla. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team was acknowledged for its commitment in the classroom as it was one of 187 programs to earn the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Academic Team Award, the organization announced on Wednesday (July 19).
 
The recognition marks the seventh straight year that the Owls have been honored for their academic success and second time under head coach Bryant Odom.  To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year and have a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
 
"I am extremely pleased and excited for each member of the team as they have shown the same dedication, commitment and competitiveness in the classroom as they show on the course," Odom said. "We have established a culture and expectation to not only be successful in golf but to also achieve high academic success, and this recognition is a result of their hard work in their studies and the support they have received from Dr. Randy Kennedy and his staff in the Student-Athlete Success Services Department."
 
Kennesaw State has received the GCAA All-Academic Team Award every year since 2011.
