EUGENE, Ore
. – Junior Jocselyn Powell competed in the semifinals 400m hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field  Championships at Hayward Field on Thursday evening.

Powell posted a time of 1:00.97 to finish eighth in her heat and 21st overall. Her season concludes with her earning All-America Honorable Mention honors. The junior's strong outdoor season saw her run the two fastest times in program history in the 400m hurdles and collect a gold medal in three events at the ASUN Championships.

"Tonight's race didn't go quite as planned, but I'm very proud of Jocselyn and all she's accomplished this year," said Josh Campbell, Assistant Track and Field Coach. "I am going to go back to the drawing board and see what I could have done differently to prepare her more. This was a great experience for her and now the goal for next year is to make the finals and become a First Team All-American."

Jordan Gray will compete in the heptathlon at the NCAA Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field on Friday, June 9 at 3:30 p.m ET.
