Kennesaw State returns to the ASUN Championships for the seventh consecutive season, dating back to 2011 when it made its first appearance in the field. The opening-round game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.

- The Owls are batting .283, outhitting opponents 516-473, and have compiled 96 doubles, nine triples and 55 home runs. KSU's 55 home runs is the third-highest total for a single season in program history with the most being 69 set in 2009.
- The Owls' nine triples ranked the third highest in program history, and their 96 doubles ranked fifth in program history for a single season.

- Taylor Allum sits at a career-high 14 home runs, ranking second in the ASUN. The junior OF is two long balls away from setting KSU's single-season record for most HR (Andy Chriscaden, 15, 2011).
- Senior OF/LHP Chris Erwin tallied career highs in doubles (13), slugging percentage (.521) and on-base percentage (.439) on the season. He hit .350 on the season at the plate and an impressive .405 in ASUN action.
- Head Coach Mike Sansing is the reigning ASUN Coach of the Year in 2016, winning his first honors since Kennesaw State joined the ASUN in 2006. He is the second-youngest coach on the 1,000-win list, and is one of 13 active coaches with 1,000 victories who have coached at least 10 seasons of D-I baseball.
- The skipper won his 950th game Thursday (March 16) at Western Carolina, taking a 12-3 non-conference tilt at Hennon Stadium. The win also snapped a three-game losing skid in Cullowhee, N.C. Sansing now sits 35 wins away from winning his 1,000th career game in the Black and Gold uniform.
