KENNESAW, Ga. – The postseason honors continue for Kennesaw State senior Courtney Sutter as she was named third team all-south region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), the organization announced on Thursday (May 18).

Sutter, who earlier this month was named ASUN Conference Player of the Year and first team all-conference, becomes the third Kennesaw State player to earn NFCA regional honors during the program's Division I era. She joins Jessica Cross (2008) and Sharon Swanson (2011) who previously receive all-region accolades.

The KSU catcher has enjoyed a career-year in 2017 while helping the Owls to a 39-18 record, second place finish in the ASUN Conference and the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC) Region 5 title.

Sutter is currently batting .382 with 15 home runs, 50 RBIs, a .724 slugging percentage, .462 on-base percentage and 39 runs scored, all career bests that rank among the ASUN Conference leaders. Her 15 home runs and .724 slugging percentage rank fifth on KSU's single-season lists.

The Marietta, Ga. native also is fifth on Kennesaw State's career home run chart with 36 and 10th with 139 RBIs.

The Owls' will continue their season on Sunday (May 21) when they open play in the championship round of the NISC. Kennesaw State defeated Georgia State, 3-2, earlier on Thursday to capture the Region 5 championship.
