GEN: Campbell, Mulder Named NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year Recipients

Kennesaw, Ga. – The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) announced Morgan Campbell and Joshua Mulder, two members of the Kennesaw State Track and Field Team, as 2017 All-American Athlete of the Year recipients.

The award is given to student-athletes recognized for athletic accomplishments and both of their dedication to strength and conditioning throughout the year. The two's determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence also deemed impressive for the 2016-17 season.

Campbell, a senior from Wellington, Fla., has competed in three meets this spring and leads the ASUN in the triple jump with a leap of 12.29m (40'7.75). She also ranks second in the ASUN with a leap of 5.71m (12'9) in the long jump. Campbell also owns a gold medal in the long jump and a silver medal in the triple jump at the ASUN Indoor Championships.

"Morgan has been an absolute pleasure to work with this year and during her four years at Kennesaw State University. Even with the early morning arrivals, she is always poised and ready to work," said Jeremy Gough, Director of Sport Performance. "Morgan consistently provides the highest level effort, has an unwavering trust in the process, and believes in the value of the weight room for her health and sport. Morgan earned this award through her dedication and integrity as a student-athlete."

Mulder, an Alpharetta, Ga., native, has competed in four meets this outdoor season and leads the ASUN in the decathlon this season after scoring 7320 points at the Virginia Challenge. He Ranks 10th in the NCAA East Region and 26th in the NCAA in the decathlon this season, and has scored 6201 points at the Joe Walker Invitational.

"When Mulder first entered the weight room years ago, he had significant work to do in regards to strength, mobility, coordination, and movement in general. Through his consistency, effort, attitude, and attention to detail, he has developed into an incredible athlete and an equally impressive presence among his teammates," Gough said. "Mulder brings steadfast leadership, and exemplifies the qualities of an ideal student-athlete. All traits considered, Josh is more than deserving of this award."
