Kennesaw State enters a four-game road trip with a 7-7 mark away from Stillwell Stadium, and treks to Charlotte, N.C. for a non-conference clash with the 49ers of Charlotte. The non-conference tilt is scheduled to be aired on CUSA.TV, with first pitch at 5 p.m. at Hayes Stadium. The Owls are 2-2 over their last four road games, averaging a .291 batting average as a team and out-hitting opponents 41-34 during the stretch.

ON DECK

  1. Kennesaw State snapped Jacksonville's 13-game winning streak Sunday afternoon behind an impressive performance from southpaw Mason Ward, who was named ASUN Pitcher of the Week Monday afternoon after tossing a complete game.
  2. Now, the Owls enter Tuesday looking to snap another win streak, as Charlotte is riding a seven-game winning streak into the non-conference tilt. The two programs meet for just the second time in program history, and it marks the first time Kennesaw State travels to Hayes Stadium.
  3. The Black and Gold enter the week with a 7-7 road record, totaling a .298 batting average, 18 doubles, one triple and 15 home runs, out-scoring opponents 89-76 during the 14 games.
  4. Taylor Allum continued his streak of reaching base safely at least once in a ballgame over the weekend, extending his streak to 34 games. The junior outfielder sits three games shy of breaking Max Pentecost's record of 36 straight games in 2014.
  5. Allum currently ranks second on the team with a .338 batting average, third in total hits (45), and first with 12 home runs and 34 RBI. His 12 HR ranks 18th in the nation and sits four away from breaking Andy Chriscaden's KSU D-I record of 15 HR in a single season.
  6. Sophomore SS David Chabut is riding a six-game hitting streak on the road, totaling a .364 batting average (8-for-22), driving in four runs, and has tallied one double, two runs and one base on balls during the stretch.
  7. Grant Williams ranks 23rd in the nation and first in the ASUN in toughest to strikeout. The junior second baseman has just 11 K's in 156 at-bats, and is averaging a strikeout every 14.1 AB. He currently leads the team with a .353 BA, 55 hits, and owns a career high 24 RBI.
  8. Head Coach Mike Sansing is the reigning ASUN Coach of the Year, winning his first honors since Kennesaw State joined the ASUN in 2006. He is the second-youngest coach on the 1,000-win list, and is one of 13 active coaches with 1,000 victories who have coaches at least 10 seasons of D-I baseball.
  9. The skipper won his 950th game Thursday (March 16) at Western Carolina, taking a 12-3 non-conference tilt at Hennon Stadium. The win also snapped a three-game losing skid in Cullowhee, N.C. Sansing now sits 40 wins away from winning his 1,000th career game in the Black and Gold uniform.
