FORT MYERS, Fla. – Two Kennesaw State women's tennis juniors were honored on the 2017 ASUN All-Conference teams, which were announced by the league office on Thursday.
 
Alexandra Mercado was named second-team All-ASUN, with Cristina Perez-Martin earning a spot on the All-Academic Team.
 
The voting was conducted by the conference's head coaches and the winners were recognized Thursday night at the championship banquet in Fort Myers. The sixth-seeded Owls face third-seeded NJIT in the first round of the ASUN Women's Tennis Tournament on Friday at 12 p.m.
 
"These are well-deserved honors for Cristina and Ale," said Director of Tennis Eduardo Rincon. "I'm proud of what they have accomplished this year, and these awards are a reflection of that. They are the leaders of this team, and they've done well to set the foundation for the future."

**Has posted 12 singles wins this season, including a 2-4 record versus the ASUN
**Leads the Owls in both singles and doubles victories
**Is 7-7 since moving to No. 1 singles midseason

ASUN All-Academic
**Has posted eight singles wins to go along with four wins in doubles
**Is a two-time ASUN All-Academic selection
**Finance major with a 3.91 cumulative GPA
