Kennesaw State returns to campus for a four-game homestand this week, with three of four games on ESPN3. The Owls kick off their week welcoming No. 10 Auburn (Baseball America) on Tuesday to Stillwell Stadium. Nathan McCreary and Brandon Joseph have the call as KSU takes on Auburn at 6 p.m. at The Shake.

ON DECK

  1. The Black and Gold are playing some of its best baseball over a two-week span, winning five of its past seven games. The Owls are batting .318 (76-for-239), tallying 12 double, two triples, three home runs and out-hitting teams 76-52 during the stretch.
  2. Kennesaw State is hitting .294 as a team (143-745), tallying 47 doubles, six triples, and 20 home runs in 22 home games at Stillwell Stadium, outscoring opponents 143-141 and out-hitting 219-185. The Owls are 15-5 this season when out-hitting an opponent.
  3. Grant Williams is currently on a 12-game hitting streak at Stillwell Stadium, batting .441 (19-for-43) during the stretch. The junior second baseman has recorded nine walks, two doubles, four RBI and has scored 12 runs over that span.
  4. Williams is leading Kennesaw State with a .347 (26-for-75) batting average in 20 games at home, totaling two doubles, one triple, 10 RBI and 14 runs scored. He also has tallied 11 walks and an on-base percentage of .451 – which leads the team at home for OB%.
  5. Taylor Allum continued his streak of reaching base safely at least once in a ballgame in all four games last week, now hitting 30 consecutive games touching at least a bag. The junior outfielder sits seven games shy of breaking Max Pentecost's record of 36 straight games in 2014.
  6. Sophomore David Chabut has produced at the plate over his last 10 games, totaling at least one hit in every game and is batting .351 (13-for-37) over that stretch. The shortstop has tallied seven RBI, one double, one triple, and two runs scored over the span – his 10 game hitting streak is the second-longest of the season by any Owl.
  7. Senior third baseman Jeremy Howell has been a big reason why the Owls have won five of their past seven games, batting .346 (9-for-26) during the stretch. He has tallied three RBI, two doubles, one home run and three runs scored, and has no errors on 12 putouts over the stretch defensively.
  8. Head Coach Mike Sansing is the reigning ASUN Coach of the Year, winning his first honors since Kennesaw State joined the ASUN in 2006. He is the second-youngest coach on the 1,000-win list, and is one of 13 active coaches with 1,000 victories who have coaches at least 10 seasons of D-I baseball.
  9. The skipper won his 950th game Thursday (March 16) at Western Carolina, taking a 12-3 non-conference tilt at Hennon Stadium. The win also snapped a three-game losing skid in Cullowhee, N.C. Sansing now sits 43 wins away from winning his 1,000th career game in the Black and Gold uniform.
