BRASELTON, GA. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team sits in third place after the first two rounds of the 2017 ASUN Conference Women's Golf Championships par-73 Legends Course at Chateau Elan.
The Owls carded a 19-over par 311 in round one and a 13-over par score of 305 for a total of 31-over par 616. The Owls made 104 pars on the opening day of the tournament. Defending conference champion North Florida leads the 7-team field with a two-round total of 17-over par 601.
Charlotte Charrayre closed her opening round with two birdies and five pars for a total of 3-over par 76. After an up-and-down first nine holes in her second round, the sophomore rebounded and closed out her last seven holes of the day with seven pars and a birdie for another 3-over par 76. She is tied for eighth with a two-round total of 6-over par 152.
Dulcie Sverdloff played the back nine holes of her first round at 2-under par 35 to close the round with a 4-over par 77. In her second round, she would roll in 12 pars on the way to another 4-over par 77. She sits tied for12th with an 8-over par total of 154.
Medy Thavong is tied with Sverdloff for 12th at 8-over par 154. After an opening round 78, Thavong made 11 pars in 2 birdies to post a 3-over par 76 in the second round.
Junior
Henriette Nielsen rebounded from an opening round 80. She made six pars during her final nine holes to preserve a 3-over par 76. She is 17th with a two-round total of 10-over par 156.
Senior
Laura Estefenn led the Owls with 23 pars over her first 36 holes of the tournament. She shot rounds of 80-77 and sits tied for 18th at 11-over par 157.
The Owls open play in the final round on Monday (Apr.17) at the ASUN Championships beginning at 10:20 a.m. and will be paired with Stetson who is in fourth place.
