ASUN Release
KENNESAW, Ga
- Kennesaw State women's golf sophomore
Medy Thavong collected the ASUN Conference Women's Golfer of the Week award after finishing tied for sixth at the Brickyard Collegiate earlier this week; the league announced on Thursday (Apr.13).
"This is the third week in a row we have been awarded the player of the week from the ASUN and what is even better is it is with three different players," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "For Medy to earn the final award of the regular season is significant. She has been so steady this entire season and has genuinely earned all her accolades. She is diligent with her practice habits, and her approach to tournament play is so mature and thoughtful. I am just so proud of her."
Thavong posted rounds of 73-72-73 for a 2-over par total of 216. Her second-round 72 was the sixth time she has posted a round of par or better this season. She led the Brickyard Collegiate field with 42 pars. The Prachinburi, Thailand native was the Owls' top finisher for the eighth time this year.
The Owls are next in action at the ASUN Conference Championships that open April 16 at the Legends Course at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga.
