SB: D'Amour Inks Four During April Signing Period

Class Includes Three a Pitcher and Three Infielders

KENNESAW, Ga. – Pete D'Amour and his staff have continued to be active in recruiting and their latest efforts have paid off with the signing of four highly regarded players to National Letter of Intents, the Kennesaw State head softball coach announced on Friday.
 
Hailey Andrews (Bridgeville, DE / Indian River State College), Joirea Dumas (Atlanta, Ga. / Westlake High School), Jade Lee (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada / Iowa Western Community College) and Meredith Milam (Miramar Beach, Fla. / Niceville High School) have all signed letters of intent, and will join the program in the fall.
 
"These players are a really talented addition to next year's roster. There is a little bit of everything with these four ladies; left-handed hitting, power, power pitching, and versatility," D'Amour said. "As with every player that decides to join our program, I thank the players and their families for the belief in KSU and what we are going to build here."
 
The group joins Patricia Awald (Marietta, Ga. / Joseph Wheeler HS), Brianna Collender (Woodstock, Ga. / River Ridge HS), Logan Edenfield (Guyton, Ga. / South Effingham HS), Alana Frye (Cumming, Ga. / West Forsyth HS), Lexi Solorzano (Woodstock, Ga. / Woodstock HS), Raleigh Williams (Columbus, Ga. / Columbus HS) and Sara Womack (Alpharetta, Ga. / South Forsyth HS) who signed during November's early signing period.
  
The Following is a capsule on each of this spring's signees.
 
Hailey Andrews (P, Bridgeville, DE, Indian River State College)
Currently playing sophomore season at Indian River State College . . . Has posted a 14-7 record and 2.24 earned-run average while making 31 appearances . . . Registered 131 strikeouts in 134 1/3 innings . . . Tabbed first team All-Southern Conference as a freshman after appearing in 29 games, starting 20, and recording a 16-4 mark and 1.47 ERA . . . Totaled 99 strikeouts in 102 1/3 innings . . . Enjoyed a standout prep career at Woodbridge High School in Bridgeville, DE . . . A four-year starter and four-time all-conference selection . . . Two-time all-state honoree . . . Concluded career as Woodbridge High's all-time and single-season strikeout leader . . . Appeared in three Little League World Series softball championships . . . Won two USSSA World Series championships with Delaware Diamonds travel ball team, and selected Most Valuable Player in one of them . . . Was the winning pitcher in the championship game of the Philadelphia Phillies-sponsored Carpenter Cup . . . A four-year starter in field hockey, earning multiple all-conference honors, and set the Woodbridge single-season goals scored record.
 
Joirea Dumas (1B/C, Atlanta, Ga., Westlake High School)
Prepped at Westlake High School and was a four-time first team all-region selection . . . Region Player of the Year in 2013 and 2014 . . . 2016 and 2017 Player of the Year . . . A four-time team Offensive Player of the Year . . . Played for the East Cobb Bullets Hindman, Georgia Impact, Georgia Elite Hoover and Worth Cobras Grees . . . Batted over .450 during 2015-17 seasons . . . Placed sixth at the PGF Nationals and fourth at the Junior Olympic Nationals.

Jade Lee (Infielder, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, Iowa Western Community College)
Currently batting .424 with two home runs, 34 RBIs, 41 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 36 games during sophomore season at Iowa Western Community College . . . Batted .491 with 12 home runs and 69 RBIs as a freshman in 2016 . . . Earned Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division I first-team all-region honors and was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year . . . Competed for the Red Deer Rage U16 in 2012 and 2013, Lloydminster Rebels U18 (2014 and 2015) and Lloydminster Liners (2016) summer teams in Alberta, Canada . . . A member of the 2015 Team Alberta province team . . . Earned first team All-Prairie League honors . . . Participated in the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games . . . Did not play softball at Ecole Secondaire Notre Dame High School as sport was not offered.
 
Meredith Milam (Infielder, Miramar Beach, Fla.; Niceville High School)
A two-sport athlete at Niceville High School where she was a member of the softball and swim teams . . . Currently competing in senior season of softball . . . Had a standout junior campaign, batting .337 with 25 runs scored, 16 RBIs, two home runs and seven extra base hits . . . Named to the Northwest Florida Daily News All-Area first team . . . Helped the Eagles to the FHSAA Class 7A District championship and regional finals . . . Received Northwest Florida Daily News All-Area Team honorable mention as a sophomore while helping Niceville to a District 7A runner-up finish and regional semifinals appearance. . . Attended Rocky Bayou Christian School as a freshman and earned Northwest Florida Daily News All-Area Team second team honors . . . A three-time top six finisher in the 100 meter freestyle at the FHSAA District Championships . . . Placed eighth in the 200 meter freestyle in 2015 . . . Advanced to the FHSAA Regional Championships three times . . . Played for the East Cobb Bullets U18 Gold . . . On track to graduate Cum Laude from Niceville High School in May.
