Final Results
MACON, GA. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team sealed up a tie for fourth-place finish after the final round of the Brickyard Collegiate at the Brickyard Golf Course on Tuesday (Apr.11).
The Owls carded a 7-over par 295 in the final round to finish with a 28-over par total of 592.The Owls led the field with 177 pars for the tournament. No.9 Furman won the tournament with a three-round total of 15-over par 879.
"Today was the tale of two nines, but I'm very proud of the team for this fourth-place finish," head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead said. "This solidifies our place at the top of the ASUN and really proves we can compete with any team in the nation on any given day. To wrap up the regular season with this result is more great momentum headed into our championship next week. I'm so proud of Medy for another phenomenal finish. I'm also proud of the entire team for their fight this week. It'll be an exciting week of preparation for the ASUN Championship."
Sophomore
Medy Thavong made three birdies and nine pars in her final round to post a one-over par 73. Thavong tied for sixth with a three-round total of 2-over par 218. This was Thavong's third Top 10 finish of the season.
Dulcie Sverdloff made four birdies on the way to a 2-under par 70 in the final round. She finished tied for 14th at 6-over par 222. She was 4-under par on the par fours on Wednesday.
Senior
Laura Estefenn made 12 pars in her final round to record a 5-over par 77. She finished tied for 20th at 8-over par 224. That tie for 20th is her season-best finish, and the 224 is her season-low tournament score.
Charlotte Charrayre shot an 80 in the final round finishing tied for 51st with an 18-over par total of 234.
Junior
Henriette Nielsen bounced back in the final round after a tough first 36 holes. She made 13 pars in route to card a 3-over par 75 in the final round. Her 13 pars tied for the second-most by any player in the final round. She took home 54th place with a 19-over total of 235.
The Owls will begin postseason play at the ASUN Championships at the Legends Course at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia April, 16-18.
