ATLANTA, Ga. – Errors proved costly for the Kennesaw State softball team as it fell 6-4 to Georgia State Wednesday at the Robert E. Heck Softball Complex.

The Owls committed six errors in the game, and the Panthers (18-11) capitalized on four of them to score three unearned runs and erase a 3-0 deficit to register the come-from-behind victory.

Kennesaw State (22-8) rallied in the seventh inning, scoring a run and putting the tying runs on base, but were unable to complete the comeback.
Â
Leading 3-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth, the Owls committed three errors in the inning that opened the door for the Panthers (18-11) to score three times and take a 5-2 lead.

Georgia State added a two-out unearned run in the fifth.

Kennesaw State (22-8) got off to a quick start scoring three runs in the first inning on an RBI double by
Noelle Winkles and a two-run single by
Katey Lynch.

Georgia State struck for two runs with two outs in the second on a two-run home run off Owls starter Abbey Cutting (11-4). The Owls' right-hander allowed seven hits, six runs (three earned), walked one and struck out two.

Winkles led Kennesaw State offensively with two hits, a run scored and RBI.
Â
The Owls return to action on Saturday (March 25) when they open ASUN Conference play with a doubleheader at Stetson beginning at 1 p.m. (ET).
