KENNESAW, Ga. --
In efforts to maximize physical development of Kennesaw State student-athletes and help prevent and rehab injuries, the KSU Athletics Association has teamed with human performance company Fusionetics.

The Atlanta-based company is an industry leader in sports performance technology. The company integrates sport science, medical research, and clinical application focusing on injury prevention, optimizing performance, and enhancing recovery.

"Fusionetics will assist us in the challenge to maximize the physical development of KSU student athletes," said Director of Sports Medicine Mike Young. "Fusionetics allows our staff to develop specific, individualized corrective exercises for student-athletes that can address biomechanical deficiencies in an attempt to prevent injury, optimize performance, and enhance recovery. Progress is monitored in an objective manner. Many professional sports teams, and high-level collegiate athletic programs are using Fusionetics, and I'm excited to implement this platform with the Owls."

The partnership allows the Fusionetics team will work closely with the Owls' sports medicine and strength & conditioning staffs in multiple screening procedures to create a clinical outline of a student-athlete, identifying problem areas that could result in injury based on lack of mobility, stability or motor control.

Based on these tests, specific corrective exercises are implemented to prevent future injuries, which the student-athletes can access via their mobile device.

Vast majorities of NBA teams utilize Fusionetics, along with a number of Power 5 schools, including LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Arizona, Notre Dame, Purdue, and Tennessee.

This technology is available to all 18 of Kennesaw State's intercollegiate athletic teams.
