Final Results
AUGUSTA, Ga. –The Kennesaw State women's golf team battled cool and windy conditions in the final round of the 3M Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club moving up three spots to finish sixth.
The Owls posted a 302 (+14) in the final round for a three-round total of 903 (+39). KSU finished ahead of eight teams including Ole Miss and Virginia Tech.
"To finish sixth in this very strong field is a good result, especially considering we were by no means playing our best golf the last two rounds," said head coach
Rhyll Brinsmead. "In windy and cool conditions we fought back today, and I am proud of the team for their grit. Medy again led the way, and another top 20 finish for her is great. I'm also very happy for Henri in her return to the lineup to post three solid rounds. This is good momentum headed in the Henssler event at home next week. We will work hard this week in preparation and look forward to having home support at Pinetree!"
Sophomore
Medy Thavong carded a 76 (+4) and tied for 16th with a total of 223 (+7).
Sophomore
Charlotte Charrayre posted a final round 76 (+4), while
Henriette Nielsen closed with a birdie and tied for the Owls lowest round of the day with a 75 (+3) as both finished tied for 26th for the tournament.
Senior
Dulcie Sverdloff fired a 76 in the final round and finished with a total of 228 (+12).
Sophomore
Maddi Caldwell played her final 14 holes in even par to close with a final round 75 and finished the tournament tied for 43rd with a 231 (+15) total.
KSU returns to action on Mach 27-28 when it hosts the Henssler Intercollegiate at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga.
