KENNESAW, Ga. -- The Kennesaw State men's tennis team rolled past Alabama A&M Saturday afternoon, 7-0, at the Betty Siegel Courts on campus.

After the Owls clinched the doubles point, rookies Harrison Wood and Miller Durham quickly put away their singles matches at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, to keep the momentum rolling. Senior David Durham's win at No.  3 clinched Kennesaw State's third straight victory.

The Owls improved to 6-5 and have won five of their last six.

"It was good to see some different faces playing well and representing," said Director of Tennis Eduardo Rincon. "Our younger guys have been really fortunate to learn under our senior leaders over the last couple months, but it hasn't been easy for the younger guys to not be playing. But one of our main strengths is how we handle our business as a team. The younger guys got a chance today and they stepped up and played well."

Wood teamed with Drew Wendel at No. 2 doubles, and the pair took down Mateo Monroy and Carlos Salas, 6-0. Miller Durham and David Durham played No. 3 doubles and clinched the doubles point with their 6-1 win over Joshua Wilson and Jarib Beazer.

In singles action, Miller Durham rolled past Beazer, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6. Wood's match at No. 5 was a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Wilson. Senior David Durham's clinching match at No. 3 was a 6-1, 6-1 win over Monroy.

Senior Sam Slade, sophomore Fermin Calvo Barcelo and freshman Drew Lahey all won their singles matches in straight sets to compete the 7-0 sweep.

Kennesaw State is back in action Sunday afternoon versus Presbyterian. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. (weather permitting) at the Betty Siegel Courts on campus.
