KENNESAW, Ga. – Alley Cutting allowed one hit and struck out eight in five innings, Olivia Tamewitz went 3-for-3 and Courtney Sutter doubled, homered and drove in three runs to lead Kennesaw State to a 9-0 victory over Omaha Sunday at Bailey Park.

The Owls improved to 10-4 on the season, while Omaha fell to 4-9.

"Our players came ready to play and beat a well-coached UNO team," head coach Pete D'Amour said. "I was really proud of how the players bounced back and it's always good to have a winning record through a weekend."

Sutter continued her torrid hitting as she extended her hitting streak to 10 games with a third-inning double and three-run home run that highlighted a four-run fourth. It marked her team-leading seventh of the season and sixth in her last six games. She has homered in five her last six games.

The Owls provided more than enough run support for Cutting (4-2) as the freshman right-hander struck out at least one batter in each of her five innings, and held the Mavericks scoreless until surrendering a bunt single with one out in the fourth.

Tamewitz continued the impressive start to her freshman season as she collected three more hits to increase her team-leading total to 21 and recorded her team-best seventh multi-hit game.

Kennesaw State also received run-producing hits from Andrea Summey, Jessie Mullen and Kira Czyrklis.

The Owls concluded the weekend with a 3-2 mark after splitting doubleheaders with Radford and Illinois on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

"Splitting with Radford Friday was big for us. They're a well-coached team and it's hard to beat a team like that when you've seen them three times," D'Amour said. "Yesterday (Saturday), we split with a Big 10 team, and took it on the chin in game two. Losses happen and you have to expect them as a coach, but the sign and character of a program and its players is how they respond to losses like yesterday."

Kennesaw State returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Athens to take on No. 11 Georgia Wednesday (Mar. 1) at Jack Turner Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. (ET).
